More questions:

I did some more research, and learned that seven years ago our Barony
did try to register some of the orders, but had them returned. "No
documentation was submitted for the order name, and the college did not
provide any documentation either."
http://sca.org/heraldry/loar/2000/12/00-12lar.html

Is it too late to send in documentation?

How do you document an order name?

I recently learned that in our barony none of our awards have been
passed through laurel (oooops!)

So I've been doing some preliminary work, compiling the details. I've
been referring to Project Ordensnamen By Meradudd Cethin
(http://www.sca.org/heraldry/laurel/names/order) for period construction
of order names. I'm not a herald, just know enough to get myself into
trouble. Would you guys mind taking a look at what I've done so far?
I've been conflict checking, and found some of our awards definitely
conflict. So I've offered suggestions for plausible changes.

Also, I'm not completely understanding the precedents for awards and
orders. For example, what makes a clear difference between the "Order of
the Pearl" and "Order of the White Pearl?" Does color make that much
difference? What about adding a place name. Is it a valid difference
(Order of the Pearl of Terra Pomaria), or would we need both a color and
place name to be significantly different? Also, is argent significantly
different from white or silver? The precedents seem to indicate one way
of doing things, while orders and awards in the O & A seem to contradict
the rules.
