Actually, the heraldic history of the badge is fairly interesting.
The compass star voided (the kingdom and Laurel files both show an
8-pointed mullet voided, by the way, but the blazon says compass star)
was initially registered in 1985 to Astriel of Smael Nest, who resided
in Caid. In 1999 she transferred ownership to the kingdom of An Tir.
It was earmarked for the use of the then Principality of the North and
has since been by courtesy allocated for the use of Tir Righ. On the
August 2007 Letter of Intent to Laurel, An Tir proposes the transfer
of the badge to the Principality of Tir Righ. Laurel will rule on
that LoI in this month, so official word'll be back in about four
months.
