I do not have access to that site: I don't need to, I've got a copy of
the *books*. ;-)
The article dates Kalmar's founding to the 12th century, but does not
out-and-out say it was called "Kalmar" then. However, it is highly,
*highly* likely it had that name by at least 1397, as the Kalmar Union
was founded that year, and took its name from the city.
