(As you might have figured out, I had a consult night last night.)

I have a client who would like: "Fieldless, on an ermine spot argent a 
hurt." for a badge.

It seems clear as everything seemed with a different tincture, has other 
charges or multiple ermine spots, each of which give the second CD 
(fieldless giving the first CD).

For that matter, it looks like "Fieldless, an ermine spot argent." is 
clear on it's own.  If so, I might suggest that as a possibility to my 
client.

Again, I'd appreciate a double check on both versions in case I've 
missed something (it was a late night, so I may not be as alert as normal).
