[antir-heralds] Registration question...

Hello all,
May I ask where the rule is that only one can be a device? The administrative handbook says:
I.B. Individuals and other local groups - Individuals and other Society branches may register no more than four names and four pieces of armory. Any submission by an individual or branch which would otherwise exceed this limit must be accompanied by a release of one or more items already registered to them to accommodate the new item[s].
It just says "four pieces of armory" -- nothing about how many can be devices vs. badges.

Yes and no.
A person may have one device and up to three badges registered. So
after that first device registers, if you want more armory you must
either release the device to register another, or register subsequent
armory as badges, submitted on a badge form (this is very important -
using a device form will result either in an administrative return or
the release of your previously registered device).
The first device you register may also be replaced with a new device
and kept as a badge. (this one you'd send in on a device form,
checking the boxes to request a device change and to retain the old
device as a badge).
So the answer is "you may have up to four pieces of armory registered
at a time" but the caveat is "but only one is classified as your
device, all others must be badges".
Additionally, you may have up to four names registered - personal,
alternate persona, household. Again, the first one registered is your
primary persona name and the one under which everything else is filed.
So if you want a device for an alternate persona you can associate
the badge with that alternate name (if registe5rd).
All these options are covered by sections and checkboxes on the device
and badge forms. Grab one and look it over and realize that everything
is single-option except for change of device, which asks what to do
with the old device (a question that the submitter must answer so
Laurel will know what to do).
