The latter would be an issue, as the double tressure
flory-counterflory (in any tincture) is reserved to Scotland, but the
former is no problem at all and if anyone else told you otherwise
(except for purposes of potential conflict) they should be taken out
and summarily chastised. :)

An orle matching the field fimbriated sable would be visually,
therefore heraldically by SCA standards, identical to a double
tressure. You also may not fimbriate a peripheral charge such as an
ordinary, as per RfS VIII.3.

The question at hand is would cross clechy be simple enough to
fimbriate. Laurel has ruled that a pile rayonny is (1), crosses fleury
and moline are not (2), a chevron rompu is not (3), a crescent is (4),
and a cross potent is not (5). A cross clechy fimbriated has never
been registered and no Laurel precedents about such a thing have been
made at all. Personally speaking, I think the disallowing of the
cross crosslet is strong enough that a cross clechy is unlikely going
to be acceptably simple enough to fimbriate.
THIS IS PERSONAL SPECULATION, however. The final word is, as always,
up to Laurel.

That's the bad news. The good news is that if you're not wedded to
the idea of voiding the cross, 'Argent, a cross clechy within a double
tressure sable' seems to be clear.
