Hmph.  'Feminine Given Names in A Dictionary of English Surnames' at
http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/reaney/
under Aline shows Aelina and Aaline.

Withycombe, under Eileen has Aileen, both 20th century forms.  Under
Aline is Alyna and Alina.  Under Ellen is Elene.

O Corrain & Maguire has Aileann - http://www.medievalscotland.org/kmo/ocm/

The Ea- makes me think it's Anglo-Saxon, but the double e is not a
pattern I'm seeing in accessible sources.  Perhaps it's in Searle?
Ursula should have some insight into possibilities, or Elizabeth, when
they read this thread.
