Reaney & Wilson s.n. Rolf say that <Rolf> is an Old Danish form derived
from Old Norse <Hro/lfr>. There are several Saint Gabriel reports which
discuss Danish patronymics, such as 1927 and 2740:

Based on this information, it looks like <Rolfsson> is a reasonable
construction.
