First, a locative byname names a specific place: John de London,
Elizabeth of Thornebrooke. A toponymic byname names a feature of
their place of origin or past: William bythewell, Stephen Greengrass,
Anne Hille.

Blackfield is a modern placename in England. Blackcliff has several
period variants, so do Blackhurst, Blackstock (black stump),
Blackwood, etc. The trick'll be documenting it plausible for Welsh.
But hardly remarkable in English.
