Where did Siobhan get that "panel knot"? There is no registered device
with such a thing, so the burden of proof would be on her to show that
it is a period *heraldic* charge. Remember VII.2; "Use of an element in
period art does not guarantee its acceptability for armory." The fact it
looks like "Celtic knotwork" isn't going to help matters. As well, since
each thistle has one large and one VERY small leaf, VII.7.a and VII.7.b
come into play. Frankly, I really doubt this would pass.
As for Criostal's proposal: turn that brown into sable, and explicitly
blazon the posture of the bow. He'd be well advised to make the bow's
string skinnier. Other than that, I don't see any problem.
I haven't conflict-checked these.
